I wonder if there’d be more tickets sold if they did this, or gave it their blessing. Gaetz and his wife saw it, she told people to stay away due to it’s antifamily values, but there’s photo evidence that they went to two different premiers. Maybe they kept their eyes closed the second time.
Good luck with all that, fundies; bet this only increases ticket sales.
I think the fact that it is so triggering to the religious right means it must be better than I was expecting.
‘Ivan Tuttle Ministries International’
‘International’ in that they have a guy who comes to church from a trailer park over the county line.
Is his wife old enough to see the movie?
and and… did you know that the pantone for Barbie pink is “PMS 219C”? (‘PMS’ is for Pantone Matching System… so you just get your mind out of the gutter there mister) and supposedly the making of this fine film ran the world’s supply of pink paint perilously low?? and there are too many formulations for pink paint (often starting with red primer and …green?) to know if there’s any nasty things like lead or other work of the devil involved (whyy my happy piggy icon is nigh Barbie pink). and hands up those who didn’t always suspect that Ken was eeeeevil?
I went to an early showing of it last night. It was alright. Absolutely targeted at adults but there’s nothing stopping children from watching it either other than parents being uncomfortable with maybe having to explain some parts of it.
fine, go ahead and ban Barbie. then it’s our turn and i think you know what vile, disgusting, violent and pornographic book i’ve got my sights on.
bring on the bans.
Pink is the new porn.
…wait.
We need to go back to biblical dolls. Stoning an adulterer or burning a witch.
You know - family values.
Operation Petticoat?
I’m a little surprised that I haven’t seen more stories about bigots protesting the new Netflix film Nimona but I haven’t really been seeking out stories about their reactions either.
(I recommend the film.)
And I demand you STFU, so I guess we’re even.
Man, I want to hear an expert opinion on Barbie® about the new Barbie® movie. Oh, whom should I look to?
Ah.
Also, this:
The Lord showed me…
No, he didn’t.
Those that are sharing this post making fun of it,… God sees who you are…
No he/she/they/it don’t.
…we will be pray for you!
I insist that you be stop it. The Lord showed me you’re a dingdong and wants you to pipe down for a good long while.
And it looks like I’ll be taking the family to the theater to see this now.
I’ll be going twice with children and their friends!
Somebody in Canada viewed their website!
Meanwhile, my daughter is taking ME to see it tonight, along with some of her friends. She’s paying for me, even.
How many of these authoritarians have adult daughters willing — nay, eager — to hang with them just for fun?
Note: I was never a fan of Barbie, and never had one myself. But I will enjoy this movie 100%, no question. Family values for the win!
That CBN guy just reminded me - Pat Robertson is still dead!
