I don’t see a face there at all…
But if I squint hard, I do see some kind of centipede or other invertebrate half coiled munching on its prey’s guts.
And that’s how I learned about the spirit of not being an asshole to orphans and muppets.

Maybe this kind of trait is adaptive?
I mean it’s pretty much settled that we have over-active face-sensing cuz better safe than sorry. But perhaps it’s adaptive to turn the gain up to 11 on seeing faces when one is sleepy and vulnerable?
Better to get a start and a squirt of adrenalin from a mispercieved angry face than to be oblivious to your enemy making their move when you’re impaired and ripe for the ganking.
