I was working as a stagehand at a Broadway musical. While outside the stage entrance
before the curtain went up, a limo pulls up, and some one remarked," It’s Kissinger, they are bringing him in the back, to avoid the public-". I remarked "I’m not fond of violence, but I wish I had some rotten tomatoes " as I headed to the fly rail. Immediately after that, a “man in black” bumped into me, mumbling “Sorry dude, so dark in here, can’t see …” as Kissinger scooted past us and into the house.

Yep. Him being Jewish has nothing to do with how big of an asshole he was and why people hate him.
Something that came to light relatively recently (early 2000s), he was complicit in Nixon’s successful attempt to sabotage the 1968 Vietnam peace talks, dragging the war out for many more years. Christ, what an asshole.
To keep him from the Oval Office, and help Humphrey become president, they were meddling in the U.S. presidential campaign—pressing their clients in North Vietnam to agree to a ceasefire and hold constructive talks to end the war.
According to Haldeman’s notes, Kissinger alerted the Nixon campaign in late September, and again in early October, that something was up.

Exactly. The Beltway crowd – including Dems like the Clintons and including the inside-baseball access journalists – were licking his arse right up until the end (and now beyond it), much in the way he lapped at Nixon’s taint. His malign application of intellect has consequences right up to the present moment.
Someone more self-aware and less prone to worshipping power and access than Yglesias might have pointed out that Kissinger was in fact a multi-generational problem.
