Famed American war criminal Henry Kissinger dies

And this bastard then was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 for brokering the end of the Vietnam War. As pointed out in the article linked by GagHalfrunt, Kissinger ultimately was responsible for millions of deaths around the world.
Give it time because it will probably be revealed that he had something to do with the civil war in the DRC.

The modern embodiment of “ubi solitudinem faciunt, pacem appellant”. I’ll lay money on his having made that joke privately himself when he received the prize.

Thinking about this …

  • Henry Kissinger - age at death: 100
  • Donald Rumsfeld - 88
  • Dick Cheney - (Still alive at 82, but one can only hope.)
  • Fred Rogers - 74
  • Jim Henson - 53
  • Majel Barrett - 76
  • Christa McAuliffe - 37

If I wasn’t already an atheist, I think this would convince me.

“Political satire became obsolete when Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.”

A classic, discovered by KenSilverstein1 when he was a correspondent in Brazil. It had a caption something like, “Henry Kissinger at a conference in Rio yesterday."

Once you’ve been to Cambodia, you’ll never stop wanting to beat Henry Kissinger to death with your bare hands. You will never again be able to open a newspaper and read about that treacherous, prevaricating, murderous scumbag sitting down for a nice chat with Charlie Rose or attending some black-tie affair for a new glossy magazine without choking. Witness what Henry did in Cambodia – the fruits of his genius for statesmanship – and you will never understand why he’s not sitting in the dock at The Hague next to Milošević.

Great, but Roselynn Carter, Shane McGowan, and Geordie Walker dying is really putting a damper on the Kissinger death celebrations…

From the Newsweek article:

What was not mentioned alongside the citation on X was Isaacson’s suggestion that Kissinger’s comments may have not been intended seriously.

“Just joking!”

A lot Kissinger’s quips boiled down to attempts to make his cynicism (which often resulted in real deaths or more power for fascists) seem charming and rakish, inviting those who laughed along with him into complicity.

It helps me a little to think that Roselynn Carter went first so she could prove once and for all that she was the better diplomat and statesperson by finally convincing Pratchett’s version of Death to take Kissinger.

For sure, use it in good health. All I ask is that you take care of my baby and only use its power for good, not evil. (Or should that be the other way round?)

His life only celebrated by other minor war criminals like Australian former PM John Howard.

Sadly, no. There have been plenty of respectful tributes.
