Probably a golden orb spider (with anarchist leanings) - cool!
That’s awesome. I always wondered how they made the main horizontal and diagonal cables – I think I imagined that they had to jump across the gap, maybe catching the wind, and landing on the outer rim. Watching this, it’s so clear how they just walk across an existing cable, paying out thread behind them, then walk along the rim before anchoring it a few degrees further on, simply moving the new line like the hand of a clock.
That spider’s putting out a distinct “all your base are belong to us” vibe.
I once walked out of my house to find a spider building a web on one of the flowers in the flower pot outside my door. If I didn’t have to go to work I would’ve just sat and watched.
