Now you might think that the goobers on various right wing sites would be on the side of the protesters. After all, they claim they are being oppressed by the government, they expect cops to kick in their doors and take their guns (or is it the Obama immigrant child soldier militia, I can’t keep that straight), FEMA is going to put them in concentration camps, the Antichrist is about to slaughter the Christians, UN armored cars already prowl the streets, and the militias gather at the Bundy ranch to push back against the federal government. Surely they would stand in solidarity with their black brothers against the iron heel of gubmint oppression.
Let’s check…
Nope, they are having a collective orgasm over the death of another unarmed black teen.
Holy fucking cats! Despite all of your fact checking, this is a picture of a group of armed civil servants in the process of pointing semi-automatic weapons at a young black person on the sidewalk in a city in the United States of America. Those are the obvious facts! Shall we discuss the Constitution some? There is a remedy for this. Do you have the stomach, or is your personal comfort a tad more important. It’s just going to get worse. Even if you are not black. The facts are plain. This Government is out of the hands of The People, and The People are just about to lose all of their power in this Democracy, unless they take it back, by any means necessary. Our Constitution was built that way. It has a relief valve.
I’ve just seen reports that the Klan is marching through Ferguson.
Let me guess, the police will attack even more protesters to protect the Klan, because freedom of speech, assembly, and bearing arms are only for right-wing whites. [Dredd Scott v. Sanford]
Yes, but it involves not throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
and ‘remedy’? Must we “The People” use such loaded language? If your point is compelling, then it is compelling without the emotional button punching, right?
Certainly, probably rebuild the whole county governance system, but ‘remedy’ is a word that invokes Brown Bess and her ilk.
And that’s the only path that the armed thugs are ready for. We have the system we have, and the constitution also, for a reason, and it is -not- to prevent things from going wrong. Ideally its to make sure they get set right again.
What i was responding to was someones veiled call for an armed revolt. I just don’t think that anyone needs to play into their hands… it’s what they’re ready for and desire. Forget not the agent provocateur.
I haven’t found any reference to the KKK yet, but I did see than Anonymous has weighed in:
A little over 24 hours ago in Ferguson, Missouri – USA the Ferguson Police Department shot an un-armed teen 6 times and killed him. His body was left to lie in a pool of blood in the sweltering heat for hours while the police militarized the area against protesters and attempted to concoct a reasonable story as to why they snatched this innocent students life for no reason. The St. Louis County Sheriff Department even sealed the roads leading to Ferguson in a vain attempt to prevent protesters from reaching the city. His name was Mike Brown, he was 17 – and he would have started college next week. Instead, his family is struggling to come up with funeral costs.
The entire global collective of Anonymous is outraged at this cold blooded murder of a young teen. Not a week goes by that some young person, usually of minority ethnicity – is slaughtered by murderous police in the USA. For this reason Anonymous will not be satisfied this time, as we have in the past – with simply obtaining justice for this young man and his family. Anonymous demands that the Congressional Representatives and Senators from Missouri introduce legislation entitled “Mike Brown’s Law” that will set strict national standards for police conduct in the USA. We further demand that this new law include specific language to grant the victims of police violence the same rights and prerogatives that are already enjoyed nationwide by the victims of other violent criminals. The Equal Protection clause of the US Constitution demands nothing less.
To the good people of Ferguson, take heart – and take your streets. You are not alone, we will support you in every way possible. Occupy every square inch of your city. Open your homes and help in any way you can the protesters who will come to your city from every part of Missouri and the USA. Businesses and householders that are near protest rallies, open your WiFi routers so that live streamers and other independent journalists can use the Internet connections. Feed each other, keep each other safe – and stay in the streets until we are totally victorious in all our demands.
To the Ferguson Police Department and any other jurisdictions who are deployed to the protests: we are watching you very closely. If you abuse, harass – or harm in any way the protesters in Ferguson we will take every web based asset of your departments and governments off line. That is not a threat, it is a promise. If you attack the protesters, we will attack every server and computer you have. We will dox and release the personal information on every single member of the Ferguson Police Department, as well as any other jurisdiction that participates in the abuse. We will seize all your databases and E-Mail spools and dump them on the Internet. This is your only warning.
The time has come for more than simple justice for these atrocities. The time has come to draw a line in the sand and say “no more dead kids”, no more police killings and beatings. Anonymous is drawing a line in the sand, and that line runs right down the middle of Main Street Ferguson, Missouri. Police impunity ends with the barbaric death of Mike Brown.
We Are Anonymous – We Are Legion – We Will Not Forgive – We Will Not Forget
EXPECT JUSTICE – DEMAND CHANGE
Well, these were on tumblr, and originally via twitter. I tried to duckduckgo the story, but unfortunately, there seems to be too much about Krooks named Ferguson, and about Clan Ferguson, and between them it’s hard to find out what’s going on in Ferguson…

Must we “The People” use such loaded language?
If language is the only thing we ever need to load to give the power back to The People, than yes, load it.
In the thread, a commenter came along and said a word beginning with a very special syllable.
The commenter believed they were being terribly clever! While other commenters might foolishly assume the word was derived from an ethnic slur, its author was in fact setting an ingenious linguistic trap for all the ignorant rubes.
At the first sign of offense taken, he leapt to his virtual feet and cried “AHA! That word is in fact unrelated to the racist slur!”
Then he explained what homonyms are.
Sadly, everyone had been through this etymological rigmarole a million times. They had seen it all before. It turns out it wasn’t clever or funny at all!
It was as if the very effort to invoke a racist term under a veneer of discursive legitimacy had become obvious. The winking, transgressive pleasure of innuendo was no more.
“But don’t they know it’s not really a racist term?” said the commenter. “How could everyone be so dumb? It’s a perfectly legitimate word.”
And then the commenters piled on Rob for setting a linguistic trap baited with the word “homonym”. Now that’s some linguini I’d like to pile on. My plate.
Or you can be an elderly white guy who waves an assault rifle while yelling at passing cars, yelling at the cops, and hollering about a “revolution” because his “rights” are being taken away, and nothing happens him He even gets his gun back the next day.
…
It’s only a matter of time before white guys like this bring their guns and line the street to the local polling station to “protect” the white voters.
