So, the next iteration of the arms race. How will ad-servers defeat this?
@doctorow, luckily, this is already possible! Go to about:config and change privacy.trackingprotection.enabled to true. This works both on desktop and on mobile. It’s a hidden setting, but I think that might change in the future. I’ve had this enabled for several months, and it doesn’t usually cause any issues. Still, it’s easily disabled (on a per-site basis).

How do you disable it per-site?
Click on the site icon in the location bar. You should see a Tracking Protection section in the pop-up (like so).
