Purty picture.
Reminds me of that W picture made of assholes.
Yes but… I had a large model of Vincent. In my life I have loved a lot of robots but boy did I love this guy back in the day. More than some humans. I don’t even know why. I would just sit and look at the model and feel a strange feeling in my brain that I wouldn’t understand for a few more years.
ETA: but yeah, the movie can go jump in a black hole. Just leave Vincent behind so he and i can run off together.
Mostly the balls to the wall WTF ending. I got it from the library a few years ago and actually watched the extras. The reason the end is such a mess is that there wasn’t one written and they just went with how cray cray can we make it.
It was well produced and had a good concept but just goes wildly off the rails at the end.
I’m not sure if I have ever re-watched it since when it was consider a new movie. I do recall the end being crazy. Everyone standing on top of the space ship as it descends into the black hole, maybe. It’s been so long that I neither hate it nor have nostalgia for the movie itself. My black hole comment was intended to show indifference.
I had remembered seeing it in the theater as lad but that was about it. They went with a heaven and hell thing with Maximilian Schell stuck in his evil robot in a hellscape and the rest pass through to heaven or a heaven like new universe.
I did have fun seeing it again but unless you are into cheesy films there are much better ways to waste 2 hours.
I once re-watched all of Space 1999. I loved that show as a kid but on re-watching it discovered 5 year old me had more patience that 25 year old me (I think I was mid twenties at that time).
ETA:
In other space news:
Israel’s lunar probe Beresheet appeared to have crashed on the moon’s surface Thursday after its main engine failed, the Israel Space Agency said.
Ok, it’s just how I squee.
That’s the best picture of Trump I’ve ever seen!!!
So you’ve ‘seen’ the black hole. Now for the interesting bit – how all that raw data was stored
That info is absolutely nerdtastic!!
Ok, that video makes a lot of sense to me. (Well, kind of, I focused on humanities at high and school and college). But how did they know what it was going to look like? Is it some kind of maths? Physics? Both?
Maximilian Schell is one of the best villains I’ve seen. I imagine he could outvilllain every other actor, even in good films.
“Boffins Apoplectic”
Well, yeah, I was meaning the image of the black hole, but there is this also…
