Authorities are charging David G. Zandstra, 83, of Marietta, Ga., in Harrington’s death. Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer is expected to discuss the filing at a news conference Monday afternoon. Zandstra, who has been arrested and is in custody in Georgia, is being charged with first-, second-, and third-degree murder, kidnapping, and other related charges, according to court records.

Zandstra had become an ordained minister in New Jersey in the 1960s and had moved to Chester to start a new congregation. By the early 1970s, news reports show he was working at Trinity Chapel with Harrington’s father, leading youth summer workshops for teen girls, and assisting at the Bible school the girl later attended.

Franco, a bisexual woman and single mother of African descent, grew up in Maré, a favela in the northern part of Rio that is close to the city’s international airport. Franco, among other things, was an outspoken critic of police raids in Rio’s favelas that have left hundreds of people dead.

Authorities in 2019 arrested two former police officers in connection with Franco’s murder.

Reuters reported one of them, Elcio de Queiroz, who prosecutors say drove the car that he and Ronnie Lessa, his alleged co-conspirator, used in the shooting, has entered into a plea agreement……

….Bolsonaro has strongly denied media reports that indicate Lessa visited his home before the killings.

“I want the supreme court to say that it is okay for me to be an asshole.”

Sadly, with this court, the chances are probably better than 50/50.

Failing bodies or decreasing physical capabilities shouldn’t prevent someone from serving. But mental capacity necessary to perform the job should.

Edit: not for those where a recovery is possible.

Before leaving, they “watched some YouTube videos” about “how to live off the grid,” a family member

“She didn’t like the way the world was going, and she thought it would be better if her and her son and Christine were alone, away from everybody,” Jara, 39, told the newspaper. “She didn’t want the influences of the world to get to them. She really thought she was protecting her family.”

“At this point it appears that these three individuals began long term camping at the location near Gold Creek Campground in (approximately) mid-late July last Summer 2022 and attempted to stay through the winter,”

The temperature goes into negative numbers there. You shouldn’t be trying to live there in a tent with a child. Unless it’s one of those tents with a wood stove maybe.
