They’ve delisted multipe things from the asset store that later ended up in their code or in their featureset. It’s hard to find stories about it because they went on a tear getting stories taken down after it happened and much of the kerfluffle out there is about the new unforced error. But they have a history of multiple bad moves like this. It’s just super hard to find them now because they aggressively protect their brand. They’ve also had a history of harassing people into the Unity Pro license. They sent a company I worked for very harrasing letters after finding out that three of us were running Unity on our desktop, for example.

Even out of the shell there’s explosions. When I was a kid my dad used a microwave egg poacher without reading the instructions that say to poke the yolk. Very messy boom.
