Footage shows Louisville police shooting pepper rounds at news crew

That right there is an affront to the ideals of a free democratic society AND a crime against design.

For real, though; that shit is hideous a/f as well as classicist and undemocratic.

Rubber bullets can and do kill. The stated intention, by the manufacturers, is that they are fired at the ground and ricochet off into the crowd at a lesser velocity. Since their inception, this advice has been ignored and police regularly fire them directly at protesters. This has been observed regularly in Northern Ireland. They should be banned.

Wanna bet that 3 days ago he didn’t even know that statue existed?

Sometimes it’s better to keep your mouth shut.

Yeah. She is not someone to fuck around with that way. Pearl clutching is not her thing.

And she was very explicit from the start who the violent, dangerous people were, here (i.e. the cops).

WTF? where was this? What possible reason could exist that would justify the pigs/cops firing on them?

You’re still looking for reason in this?

Oh, my sweet summer child.

“New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said that the demonstrators — and not police — had behaved inappropriately and bore the brunt of the blame for the incident.”

Theres also two different types of rubber bullets in use by the RUC: A hard rubber for smashing doors, and a softer rubber for use against personnel. And never in the history of the troubles did the former get used in lieu of the latter.

i believe this was in minneapolis.

Even the softer ones (hell even the bean bags) can still really easily maim and kill. There is no such thing as a non-lethal bullet, they’ve had to switch to calling them “less lethal” for a reason.

Stunning ignorance there.

I wake up from being wiped out by paint fumes from a home project, now see in less than 10 hours, the NFL hilariously issued a hypocritical statement after what they did to Kapernick, protestors turned on Fox news reporters in DC, and now the mayor of NYC refuses to blame the cops for driving INTO a crowd of protestors?

Because he won’t blame people who are there to keep the peace?

Either I have huffed too many paint fumes, and am still recovering, or the country’s gone crazy on top of Trump crazy!

(oh, except the harrassment of Fox reporters, I’d say they earned that, just don’t hurt em- smash their equipment, not their people)

In case you didn’t notice, the President of the US and leader of the GOP tweeted “The only good Democrat is a dead Democrat”. The party’s official position now is that opponents must be killed. Think about that.

His claim that they “moved to surround” the cops is absolutely disproven by the video. Not that facts will matter in stuff like this, of course.
