Yea, that’s true. I guess it didn’t seem so much a thing. Even though the satanic panic started around then, too.
Plus, no 24 hr cable new cycle either, no youtube, etc. People just actively ignored the jesus freaks for the most part at least for a little bit.
By the time the USA elected the cokehead drunk (W), the republicans were all in for sure.

It’s the same as the bigots who actually do have a minority friend - or at least thinks they do.
