It appears to show his route going around the north end of the Dead Marshes, rather than crossing them, but perhaps that’s just the scale.

Ah, the time I spent studying that map as a kid, imagining how all the places we didn’t visit looked like, what kind of people lived there, what adventures they had…
I also tried to turn it into a rather crappy HoMM II map, but that’s been lost to time (hopefully).
