Fuck Today (Part 1)

And my back is out. Again. Sitting up right in a chair at a table is apparently dangerous. Only lounging from now on.

Seriously getting older sucks!

Standing desk?
I’ve used one off and on for a few years. I dunno if it’s the panacea some make it out to be, but it’s at least a change…

I don’t have that kind of job. And i only ever seem to do this when I’m at home…

Off to the osteo and chiro for me!

I did this last week, so I bought one of those massage rollers and that seems to help. I could go to a professional, but it takes so long when you have other things to do. I really miss the cheap massages we could get in China though, they were just around the corner so it took very little time.

I find switching between a standing and sitting desk helps too.

Saw a friend tonight at a school function. She’s one of those people who always has a smile, always makes you feel good. We promised we’d get together soon (and we will). After the event, she proceeded to email me with the info she didn’t want to reveal at a public event: her husband has head/neck cancer. Her mother died of breast cancer (fortunately, old enough to have known her grandchildren). Her daughter had such a severe concussion that she lost a year of school. And now this. She’s such a loving, kind person it’s proof-positive that there’s no such thing as a merciful god.

God damn it.
I lost my monthly commuter rail pass.
This week/month has not been my best.

Stood in a receiving line for about 9 hours, cried at the drop of a bagpipe, many inappropriate jokes were had, reconnected with tons of cousins who live elsewhere.

The woman was a giant and we’ll never see her like again, though. Hopefully, her story will get told one day soon.

Thanks. The funeral helped, but these deaths always leave holes and regrets.

But Benjamin Button was so poignant!

Actually, I’ve never seen it, but that would ruin the joke.

I accidentally bought coffee from a religious group. Because Starbucks was closed and I needed caffeine.
I didn’t know they were all about “brining glory to Jesus” when I bought the coffee, but I’d have passed if I’d known.
Minor, yes, but another drop in the bucket of shit that is my week.

Something for the fermenting thread?

Were they the ‘Jesus loves you, c’mon into the kingdom!’ kind or the 'YE WITHOUT REPENTANCE SHALL BURN FOREVER IN A LAKE OF FIRE kind?

My day was pretty good but I told Spotify to play me one of my favorite Aretha songs and when it was done playing the one song, it played me Frank Sinatra. I hate Frank Sinatra. :no_good:

Me too, but I love his music.

I was about 30 windows into my work in the early afternoon when construction a block over demolished three underground electrical lines, knocking out power for over 8 hours. Did I mention that I’d just been to the grocery store, stocking up everything including frozen items?

I’m waiting until tomorrow morning to figure out how much has to be thrown out. Looks like (knock on wood) I didn’t lose any work, just all that time and a bunch of things that needed to be done before close of business on a Friday.

Guess who’s going to be working over the weekend to catch up?
