Yes the fly’s wings look to be fully inflated. I wouldnt expect that to happen in the pupal-pooper scenario. I do not intend to test this hypothesis

Did the doc retrieve the fly? Because if not, I am going with this 63 y/o guy is a joker who swallowed a plastic fly like one might hide in an ice cube!
Alternative crack pot hypothesis: like everyone who winds up having to awkwardly explain such a situation to the doctor, he just happened to slip and fall on it in the shower.
