Gendered objectification

That guy is the same guy who played Carlton Lassiter? I didn’t recognize him at all!

Neither did I! Wow.

Yup. If you block out below the nose, it becomes easier to see the resemblance.

Speaking of sexy older guys… I still like Fashion Santa.

Yeah, Paul Mason is one of the models on the page I was pulling examples from:

These guys look like they’re in the 70s, and yet hot, but they’re younger than I am. It’s sort of a mind-fuck.

“older men” = white hair, thats it, thats all.
Hilarious.

I guess it’s their version of the MILF/cougar issue.

While some people may find Mick Jagger worthy of objectification… ugh, no, I just can’t.

I do know a couple of dudes who are totally hot for Richard Gere as follows:

De gustibus…

I don’t know where else to put this…

But wage gap isn’t real right? /sigh

The invisible hand is love. The invisible hand is life.

This line they’re taking makes me wonder how the hell they run their payroll.

And big ears. And, looks like, makeup to simulate sunken cheeks.

Anyone who thinks Mick Jagger is attractive is obviously not objectifying him (not his body, anyway).

And clenching your fists for the ones like us
Who are oppressed by the figured of beauty
You fixed yourself, you said, “Well never mind”
We are ugly, but we have the music

[As much as I want to just leave that hanging there, I feel I owe it to those who don’t recognize the passage to say it’s Chelsea Hotel by Leonard Cohen and if you aren’t familiar, it’s about Janice Joplin, which explains the chorus]

I don’t think it’s makeup.

Even the “good genes” guy has the body of a drug addict or beach bum.

Models have way different standards for body fat than the rest of us, so the male models who aren’t beefy just look unwell to me. The same is true for overly thin female models.

As if they don’t spend that on like, I dunno, COFFEE on a daily basis!

This makes a good point how objectification can’t simply be solved by gender-swapping.

I don’t really pay attention to TV or media in general, partly because beefcake isn’t to my taste. Pervasive objectification of women, I think, limits the range that is offered in men, and limits their options of how to be, as well.

Anyway I’ve been thinking of posting appreciation of pretty boys. For the purposes of this thread, these are the young versions of famous musicians. They have some resemblance to my friends and lovers, and people I want to sleep with. Because they’re young, sensitive, artistic, funny, charming, and that’s hot too.

Love DB because he’s thin and intense, and the eyes. He looks a lot like my most enduring and devastating crush/sometime lover

soft and pretty Jonathan <3
