Genisis never quite grabbed me for some reason. I never really considered either Tull nor Floyd ‘prog rock’. Yes was certainly prog rock as was ELP… I can still sing along perfectly to Thick As A Brick, but Tull was simply R’n’R that went long form. Pink Floyd was just its own thing. I’m picky about what I call prog rock. What drove prog right off the stage was punk, basically, its antithesis.
I did get to see Gentle Giant twice, once while tripping balls.Wheeeeeee!
