Gentleman with fake electrical outlet sticker bedevils people in need of charging their phones

Those people deserve something much worse than this prank!

It might be annoying, but it is definitely NOT mean.

More japing. Should be taught in school.

It was, in my case.

It has no purpose other than to fuck with people. It’s mean. Certainly not the meanest thing, but mean none the less.

“Such stickers are readily available at Amazon.com, […]”

But not the Boing Boing Store.
Now I don’t know whether I’m dissapointed or relieved.

(To clarify: Erys, to whom the tag for the article refers, is the goddess of strife and discord. I was being too clever : / )

I had no idea. I really must brush up on my mythology.

Never a bad idea to learn more.

Especially when the proliferation of myth proceeds at such a rapid rate. Hard to keep up.

Well…the link to amazon is an affiliate link, so not really different in that sense. Amazon is just “Deluxe BoingBoing Store” with a much better return policy

That still doesn’t solve my inner conflict, though.

Ironically, this post offering over the counter pranks is by Mark rather than Rob. I guess Rob does all his own pranking.

What on Earth makes you think that ?

The spoiler tag isn’t powerful enough to contain him :open_mouth:

I see a link between pranksters and bullies. Their personal joy and aggrandizement are achieved at the expense of other people.

nothing to do with superchargers then

I don’t want to be that guy, but the fact is I am:

When electrical current “flows” in a metal conductor, no electrons change hands. It is more like using a line of dominos to ring a distant bell, in that the energy moves but each domino stays roughly where it was.

(even in countries where power is supplied by electron beams instead of wires, your phone charger has to beam as many electrons out as it takes in, lest it become negatively charged and produce the bolts of lightning that you often see in airports when travelers try to use the wrong adapter)

I’m not generally in favor of the death penalty but
