Okay.

So the answer is mandatory conscription? Because thatā€™s the only way I can think of ensuring that every U.S. citizen has some of the rudimentary training that you have. I think itā€™s great that you, as a father of three kids, have such a background. Most U.S. citizens donā€™t, though.

Praising people for performing an action they know will cause their own deaths but will save others is vastly different than complaining after the fact that 50 murder victims didnā€™t fight back hard enough.

Sure, I would automatically know someone was shooting the place up in a loud dark place with flashing lights and people dancing while drunk. And of course my first instinct would be rush the shooter by jumping over the fallen and falling bodies of my friends and trying not to slip in their blood so I could rip the gun out of his hands before he can shoot me with no regards to my own safety. /sarcasm

Sorry dude. Even if your reactions were not already dulled by alcohol or fatigue, by the time you figured out what the hell was going on it was probably too late to do anything. This guy was likely shooting anything that moved so rushing him would be a sure way to get yourself killed. He may have been venerable while reloading if he didnā€™t have a second weapon handy, which I believe he did.

Fighting back against impossible odds may be a fun american movie theme, but it ainā€™t so much fun in real life.
