My one experience at a music festival was, well, actually pretty good. The main difference with this one was it was ostensibly alcohol free. (They did a cursory check of your car for alcohol but people still smuggled some in. But it kept the event from being a piss-up). Also no rubbish bins so you were responsible to take your own waste with you. You were asked to bring your own plate/bowl/cup/flatware to reduce waste from the food vendors. Also the food vendors were required to provide only washable/reusable dishes (no single-use) if you forgot yours. Instead of port-a-potties they had composting toilets (and the people who serviced them were definitely the no-all-heroes-wear-capes variety). All in all, it was a wee bit scrungy, but not the passed-out-drunk-throwing-up-overflowing-rubbish-bins-stinky-port-a-potties scrunginess.
