Along with FOOF, chlorine trifluoride is good for setting things on fire
just about anything, including sand and asbestos.

Fun, and likely to be enticing to some here on the BBS:

Note: the piece erroneously references “Northhalsted” when they mean North Halsted, but really it’s been called “Boys Town” for decades, and even has that as its official designation in city neighborhood maps, etc.

In 2005, other researchers were able to develop a technique that caused very localized tactile stimulation for penises, allowing them to find the precise region devoted to this area in males. But there was no similar breakthrough for females

Gonna guess it was a bunch of dudes in charge of that study

Gentlemen, this is amazing: according to these results, all of the brain is devoted in some way to the penis.

Interestingly, the 2005 study on penis tactile sensation was followed by a similar attempt to “find the clitoris” and involved the same scientists.

Research, or an excuse to spend all their time watching and petting capybaras?

On a somewhat related note:

four Afghan American women, including Taliha and Iman’s mother, Sofia, now in charge of this local restaurant empire — holding positions of power that the Taliban’s takeover has essentially denied to most women who’ve remained in their ancestral homeland.

the day Afghanistan fell, Omar, 46, sprang into action
he decided to step back from the businesses and make all his restaurants women-run.

As an Afghan man, Omar says, it was important for him to voluntarily and publicly fade into the background, as a direct reaction to how Taliban society forces women into the shadows.

We’ve been to the restaurant in Springfield VA, the food was delicious & the service was excellent. Didn’t know the same family ran these other restaurants, which are much closer to us. (Springfield’s a bit of a trek for us, even for a great dinner.)
