Follow-up: looks like people actually found this archeological treasure back in 1922, said “cool!” and then just… buried it again and largely forgot about it? Huh.

For those who wish to turn away, if only for a moment, from the pitiless maw of 2020… I give you a father and son playing a New Order song. I have no idea who they are. I just found this by accident and like it. Enjoy.
So my wife got a call out of the blue today from a mom of a patient I took care of decades ago. (Yes, my number is in the book. Security is not my strong suite) Anyway, this kid was born addicted, was in the hospital for weeks withdrawing, finally went home and did well. Apparently Mom got straight and they have done well. The kid transitioned several years ago, and Mom called to thank me for saving her. (Not that I did much except hand holding.) and to tell us that she is doing really well, and thanks me for accepting her as she is. Haven’t seen them since transitioning, switched to big people doctor and so on. This is why you go into peds! Now excuse me while I go weep a little.

eta: They’ve broken out the interview as a separate MP3. Listen!
Good job!
Encouraging…
