“But maybe you weren’t educated properly…”
The darker-haired girl’s expression when he says “many people have said that” is so precious! I hate it when people say things like that too. Like “if you have heard this before already then why haven’t you learned!?”
This piece on virtual choirs was interesting and uplifting:
Here’s the performance - Eric Whitacre’s Virtual Choir 6: Sing Gently:
Sent to my choral director…thanks!
I find these ladies pretty inspiring- literally placing their bodies between the police/ fed gestapo and protestors to protect protestors. The helmets are a good idea too. ETA: I also think their presence as white and surburbanite looking mothers really ruins a lot of the opportunities covfefe and his authoritarian train have for pics that support the narrative they are pushing
We’re starting to have the opposite problem: people are going out on the roads and (I suppose due to pent-up rage or frustration) driving faster and more recklessly, causing more accidents.
It is not theater. It is an invasion mimicking how the US got involved in Vietnam. Trump and Barr are sending a few “advisors” at a time to boil the frog slowly.
edit: sorry my comment is not encouraging. i apologize.
I was referencing strictly the gathering of pics and videos to futher the false narrative that the protestors are violent (and non-white) leftist extremists. The wall of moms makes that quite difficult.
I was not saying the tactic of sending fed forces to Portland or any other city is merely theater.
Edit to remove request @NoThisIsPatrick not put words in my mouth. Apparently, their mention of theater was in reference to the linked article
Yeah I was quoting the article that was linked in the comment.
I didn’t put any words in your mouth.
But I can understand hurt feelings on a misunderstanding.
It would be nice if you retracted that accusation.
Yup, we’re seeing both. Lives lost on the roads is down ~25% (traffic volumes down 30-50% at the lowest point) but we’re seeing more cases of extreme speeding.
(Full disclosure- if it wasn’t already apparent, I’m a transport policy wonk.)
(ETA - not sure why this post is Oneboxing so extravagantly compared to @vermes82 OP)
wow
