And as usual, self-appointed moral crusaders and the institutions they run show their breathtaking hypocrisy.

Ugh, how many days before he issues the tearful nonpology full of references to how he was led astray, prayed about it, and needs forgiveness…

Hey U.S. cable tv programming, your turn!

Women who are detectives, check! I still miss The No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. I’m glad it’s so inclusive, but when I read the witch part I thought, “Again? Still?” Maybe they will address that in an episode.

As for US cable, they seem to take one step forward and two steps back. Channels that used to be more representative of society turned - probably due to pressure from conservative groups. I wonder if viewers still clutch their pearls when gay couples appear on HGTV?

I don’t know about generally, but my MIL gets the vapors when interracial couples appear on Hallmark. Not sure she would survive LGBTQ representation.

I did not know that was happening. :astonished: Last I heard, they were advertising more diverse movies with Black and Latinx couples. That’s not a channel I’ll pay to watch, since it’s a struggle to hang onto TCM and BBC America. They’ve probably got Hallmark packaged with sports, and since many seasons have been interrupted cable companies are raising rates.

Today was a good day. A friend I havent seen for months came by for a socially distant visit. We drank a fancy wine, harvested vegetables, ate jalapeno poppers, and spoke of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings.

Feeling good.

On that “voter fraud” thing and the GOP record on that… I give you Steve Watkins.

Meanwhile, on the coronavirus…

… and on Catholics’ feelings about Biden being pro-choice…
