My sister’s old Belgian Shepard, a dead serious working dog, could lick my chin standing. I’m 6’8"; he was a big boy who could part ranks of teenagers with a glare when he was out as a jogging escort.

I watched the guard llama stroll over to have a conversation with him, while ignoring me completely, when we arrived at a farm for sheep herding practice. He grovelled hard… chin right in the dirt. The llama decided he wasn’t a wolf or coyote, so let him live.

I’ve met one of these specific llamas in person at a work function. He was calm and not just sweet but affectionate, leaning into people for skritches like a cat, even with hyper kids crawling all over him.
