Not so bad, then, but it does point out a problem with permissions in general (not just with browser add-ons, but smartphone apps as well): sometimes it isn’t all that clear why a program needs particular permissions.

Yep, threw me for a loop too until I read the reviews and the responses by the dev. One of the best things about open source programming is the transparency for security, and this is a perfect example of it.
