I work at a med school (although I do non-medical research and don’t know anything about medicine). Just checked our course listings out of curiosity. We have 1 required course on “Determinants, Disparities, and Social/Population Health” that includes a few lectures on socio-economic and racial disparities in health. Not enough, but not nothing

I actually liked “colored” while it was around because everybody has a color including the ones you mentioned. It became uncool in the late 1960’s Isn’t White the absence of color though?

In a brief interview Wednesday with The Washington Post, Huffman insisted that his question was rhetorical and that he was not trying to insult African Americans.
One day after that interview, TeamHealth, a Tennessee-based company that operates several hospitals in Ohio, fired Huffman. “Dr. Huffman’s comments are wholly inconsistent with our values and commitment to creating a tolerant and diverse workplace,” a company spokesman said in a statement. “TeamHealth has terminated Dr. Huffman’s employment.”
