GOP Rep. Lisa McClain claims Trump "caught Osama bin Laden” in 2011, even though he didn’t take office until 2017

Oh , bravo… wonder if someone has made one of these for the Tories? Asking for a large section of UK society…

There is a Canadian version (s/republican/conservative/) but since it’s Canadian the ‘$’ remains on the money-bag (oh and the greenbacks remain …green)

(and not sure the ‘braces’ and baseball hat are iconic for a Tory voter…?)

I wonder how many of them are in early stages dementia or alzheimers, seriously. Are these people going to end up in supervised nursing homes in a few years? There has to be an organic reason for why they’ve completely lost touch with reality. The woman who claimed she’d rather have pootin as a President than Joe Biden couldn’t articulate her reasons and began babbling and making sh*t up. Along with their Orange Jello God, they have to be experiencing some sort of mental decline. I am a left winger, but what I’ve seen in just the past few days is startling and scary, even the politicians.

I will say that it’s possible to have both high unemployment and a labour shortage, because there’s factors in a person taking a job that go beyond the mere existence of the job and joblessness of the person. Wage, qualifications, location…

The way “unemployment” is defined, in the US at least, normally precludes that from happening - if you’re not actively looking/applying for jobs, you’re not unemployed. You only get a labor shortage with high unemployment if somehow all the available job-seekers are wildly unqualified for the jobs available (and can’t be trained), which is… unlikely.

Some of them are, I’m certain. But not all of them, probably nowhere near the majority of them. It turns out that you can fuck your mind up simply by embracing sufficiently toxic beliefs and patterns of thinking.

Or, in other words, their hardware’s not the problem, it’s that the software is riddled with malware and viruses.

I put these people into one of four categories:

  1. Delusional
  2. Stupid
  3. Afraid. People who truly, viscerally afraid of change. The world is one never-ending existential crisis for them. On the other hand, I think a lot of these people may fall under categories 1 and 2.
  4. The worst of all - they know but are willing to lie about anything and everything as long as they think it will help them win or hurt who they don’t like. Honor, democracy, fairness and basic human respect mean nothing to them.
