There was an episode of Arthur (yes, the kids show) a decade ago or so that focused on background music in stores and how it influenced behavior. Lemme see if I can dig up a link.

Some thought should be spared for the people that have to work in that environment. The music in my store is driving me insane.

Earbuds/headphones.

I’d be interested to know how that compares to having no music. I can’t stand having to listen to shitty pop when I’m shopping (and I do feel for the staff, especially at Christmas).

Listen, and dance to it…

Although approaching Christmas… even the Taliban have one or two points that aren’t all bad.
