A practical guess is that they have a cafe that serves something that smells good. I usually have salmon at my art museum cafe. The double doors create a jet of air that flows out the doors, coaxing the cats inside.

The black one might just be looking for pets tho.

I think the kitties are amusing themselves. If they were really invested in getting in, they could easily out maneuver the guards. Those are healthy cats, they would be very fast and agile if they had a mind to try for real. It’s nice how gentle the guards are about discouraging them.
I want to pet them
