According to this JPMorganChase analysis there’s not that much difference between those groups and white people when it comes to crypto… they estimate 21 percent of Black and Hispanic Millennials have money in crypto compared to 20 percent of white Millennials.
Race
We find additional variation in the demographic makeup of crypto users by race. To isolate differences in race, we focus on millennials—which make up the plurality of crypto users—and look at engagement within income brackets. For millennials around the median income in our sample, Asian individuals have the highest involvement rate at 27 percent.iv The crypto user shares for Black and Hispanic individuals in our data were approximately equal at 21 percent, and White individuals came in at 20 percent.
As a means of reaching out to Black and brown people specifically, focusing on crypto feels like a reach.
I can at least understand how a promise to legalize cannabis would be helpful to these groups. Famously, white folks smoke weed at about the same rate as other racial groups but it’s the black and brown folks who tend to get prosecuted for it, so legalizing it (which is long overdue regardless) would be particularly beneficial to the people who have been paying the highest price for our war on drugs.
I’ve been seeing ads here about Harris allowing surgery for trans inmates when she was AG in California. Honestly, I’d love to see her come out and respond with, “You’re damn right I did.”
I’d love if she’d do hat too, but after this and the two dems who released transphobic ads, it seems like they’re going to throw trans people under the bus. I dread what she’s going to say on Rogans podcast
It’s so enraging, because we know what’s going to happen with project 2025 being the playbook, but how in the fuck can Democrats NOT take the moral and ethical stance here. We KNOW what the right thing to do is, and I’m fed up with people not doing that thing…
I will say, I don’t know what it’s like to be trans, but I trust what I’ve been told that those who are. I just assume that trans people know their own experiences best and that they are indeed best arbiters of what they need (legally, medically, socially, etc). You’d think that Harris’ campaign would be able to take the arguments she’s been using about cis women and abortion and use that for a robust support of trans legal and medical rights. I honestly don’t know why that’s such a difficult position to grok for so many people, but it seems like it is.
Yeah, I get what she’s trying to do, appealing to the centrists and Republicans in order to pull votes from Trump… but I just hope this is a tactic similar to what Carter did when he ran for Governor, she he ran on a wink and a nod to the white racist good ole boys… but then when he got a elected, he pulled a bait and switch, claiming that the era segregation was over and it was time to move forward. Like, she wins and is like, HAHA SUCKERS ON THE RIGHT, TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS!!! I am not optimistic of that, though…
Regardless- trans people should show her that their hard work supported her election. That’s what matters to pols. I’m going to guess that she’ll have significant trans appointments in her administration.
He imagines himself being some kind of neutral centrist, just platforming ideas, even controversial ones. He’s had people like Bernie Sanders on his show, for example. But what @mspie500 said…
I’m following live posts from Erin Reed as she’s watching Kamala Harris on Fox News and Harris seems to be doing an alright job regarding questions over trans inmates
