Harris Campaign News

Maybe it’s just because his election has me worn down, but I’m terrified trans rights will be compromised away. :disappointed:

It’s official: sharing Trump’s own explicitly stated position on the Electoral College now marks candidates as far-left extremists.

That would be a huge shift in position for Harris. You can literally buy trans pride stickers on her campaign site. My bigger fear is just walking back the progressive policies of the Biden Administration in general and returning to the neoliberalism of 1980-2016. And my other fear is something I’ve been worried about since the founding of the Lincoln Project. I’m worried that the never Trump Republicans are planning to take over the Democratic Party and leave the GOP to MAGA. With Liz Cheney campaigning for Harris and now Harris announcing she’s going to have a bipartisan advisory group, I’m afraid she’s opened the door and invited those Republicans in. It’s not like these are moderate Republicans. The last moderate Republicans died when Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski refused to block Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination.

I get why Harris is doing this. A lot of voters are tired of how divided the country has become. She’s hoping to appeal to those voters. She needs every vote she can get. I’m just worried this will come back to haunt all of us.

Agreed. It is the kind of thing you say but when it comes down to it, you add Adam Kinzinger to an advisory committee and call it a done deal.

Well, “you” should do that…

I hope this reaching across the aisle with an open hand is just a gesture, and that if she wins, the hand will close into a fist. But I too worry that it won’t.

Yeah, I’m worried she’s actually going to put Liz Cheney on her cabinet. In fact, I’m almost certain she’s going to do exactly that. She has said she wants a Republican on her cabinet, and I’m sure Cheney was promised something in return for not just endorsing Harris but actually campaigning for her. Hopefully it’s not Secretary of State. Jesus, that would be Henry Kissinger, Pt. 2.

But would the Republican senators block her nomination?

If not - Agriculture. Keep her away from the others

Yes, but that’s also true for lots of his past statements. He used to publicly be in favor of zero restrictions on abortion as well as a full national ban on assault rifles, and has pretty much been on every side of every issue at one point or another.

I hope this helps, but I am doubtful. It doesn’t matter what she does, it won’t be enough. God Himself could come down from Heaven, reveal himself, and tell everyone to vote for Harris, and the media would still report that the election is a dead heat and that Harris needs to do more.

I can get behind half of this headline:

But it’s really disheartening that politicians of both parties feel the need to coddle the crypto bros. And did I miss something? Do black men have a greater interest in cryptocurrency than the population in general? Huh.

You know…I kinda don’t like the recent focus on black men and hispanic voters. I get it. There are polls showing Trump has more support among those groups than he did 4 and 8 years ago, but a clear majority of both will vote for Harris. The only demographic that supports Trump at over 50% is white people. White people are the problem.

Unfortunately, that group has proven to be more resistant to change than the other two. So, she’s going with where she knows her efforts are more likely to pick up more votes. :woman_shrugging:t4:

To be clear, I’m not criticizing Harris’s efforts, but the media’s focus on those groups, mainly.

Yeah, it really sets up a divide-and-conquer strategy that benefits the GOP, too. The way CNN covered / promoted backlash against Obama’s speech was particularly bad.

Yes. A plurality of crypto investors are Black and brown people. I’ve seen a lot of advertising as of late advertising to these audiences specifically. There’s plenty of research on this that’s available on the internet.

This. For like 3 nights in a row they were beating the drum on this. Meanwhile the crazy shit Trump said was barely worth any mention.
