Help! I need this dress!

I think Rhianna’s figure just makes the deep-v rise just a bit more than on the mannequin, but it is… maybe a little deeper.

So you’re shopping for shoes, too?

Yeah, I like your version better in so many ways, but the V goes down to the navel. That’s just not going to work with a roomful of teenagers.

I don’t know what’s acceptable at proms. Whenever I see groups of girls who clearly have just left prom in SF, there are always a couple of girls in outfits that make that Stella McCartney look like a sundress.

is that actually a wrap dress, rather than a dress with a slit in the front?

Sure looks like it.

Lack of Taste, apparently

but then again, GET OFF MY LAWN

Oh I like that red one a lot. I might float it as a “backup” dress. As long as it’s returnable (it’s Target so probably.)

I couldn’t even look at that site without registering? Although your direct link works.[quote=“chgoliz, post:50, topic:78380”]
I think the second dress is going to look a lot better on a small thin frame, anyway. You need curves and height for the first one. Although, don’t discount the strapless style on the top half of the first dress, which will look better on a small chest than the top half of the bottom one.

The structure and seaming on the bodice actually made her look really curvy. I feel like a slip dress only accentuates how ridiculously thin she is. BUT it’s not MY prom.

Yeah the Real Real Requires registration

Unless you are using Chrome and get the extension BehindTheOverlay

Ooooo. I’ve been manually editing the html to get rid of It when I visit certain sites but this is way better. And they seem to make it also for Firefox!

Well look at that…it’s available for both Chrome AND Firefox. Thanks for the tip!

Interestingly, I cannot like your post. I get the error message “You are not permitted to view the requested resource” instead. Hmmm.

Oooooh, weird.

But yeah, that extension is the best thing I’ve discovered in a long time. I assume eventually it will be defeated, but until then . . . so satisfying

That pic of the 6" stiletto is making my giant monkey feet sympathetically hurt. At least I can hang from a tree upside down with my toes.

Perhaps you’ll enjoy knowing that I came back to the forum just now, this is the first thread I opened up, liked your post responding to mine, and discovered that was the one-and-only-one like I have been allotted for the next 11 hours. Lucky you!

Wow, just realized that’s a wrap dress.

Yeah, one of my friends posted a pic of his son and his date, and her outfit looked like a Vegas showgirl’s dress. She was super busty and short waisted and the whole thing was just a bad idea, but hey, they seemed happy.

Of all the ones I have seen on the thread, the red is the closest in feeling to Rihanna’s, even the jewel tones. I did like that it was Target, so returnable. The only down side is I have not had real good experience with Target online. But still, I think it’s better than eBay. It’s a pretty idea for a dress; different than what a lot of girls will be wearing.

She paid for express shipping on the one she ordered, so if it comes tomorrow or Friday and doesn’t work, we still have time to express-ship the one from Target. I liked the blue sequined one, myself, but apparently only some sequins are ok, and I am not capable of discerning which.
