Hideous slob shaves on train, flicks used shaving cream on the floor

In Japan I’ve even seen somebody cutting their toe nails on the train! Which I consider even more gross.

“Public Shaving” certainly sounds like it should be a category on Porn Hub.

@anon61833566 Disappointment Guaranteed! :smiley:

@misterjep I agree, I was wondering what the bloke’s tale is; is he on his third reprimand for tardiness at work, and his goddang alarm failed to go off again? I could see this being a Mr Bean style scenario, with him looking for a toilet on the train as it gets ever nearer to his destination.

He looks a bit like a made guy so waddayagonna do?
Fuhgeddaboudit!

Turns out this guy is homeless and was simply trying to clean up before he got to his brother’s family, after his other brother gave him some money for a train ticket. He’s deeply hurt that he has become a viral sensation to be mocked.

Boingboing, complicit in shaming homeless people and internet bullying. Bravo, I can see why you claim to be a source of wonderful things. I guess internet bullying is only bad when Trump does it.

About time that “Gentleman” wasn’t used yet again in place of “Hideous slob”.

The self-grooming earned its share of negative comments on the internet, with insults like “slob,” “animal” and “nasty”. Others humorously lauded his steady hand with a razor. A few cautioned against passing judgment and suggested people didn’t know the whole story.

Hey, sounds like The Guardian reads the BBS! Hi Guardian! :wave:

Are you disappointed?

Just curious is wrong to judge someone when they do something disgusting? I’m all for this guy or anyone else freshening up and looking presentable. But don’t tell me the shelter didn’t have a restroom he could have used before he left to do this very thing. I don’t care his social or economic status…shaving on the open transit and then flicking said shavings to the floor of the train is gross.

I’ve read the threads, and many people also provided photographic proof that there are restrooms on the train.

I’ve stayed in shelters myself, and have even camped rough, and in general I’ve noticed that many homeless wouldn’t do this if access to a bathroom was available. To the homeless, bathrooms are a godsend.
Among the homeless I’ve known, this just wouldn’t fly.

Just to mention–the BoingBoing post appears to have been deleted now, as far as I can tell. (The link in the OP of this topic goes to 404 now.)
