Yeah apparently it’s comforting to folk when strong women play supporting roles rather than seek authority for themselves.

Yes, and there’s nothing wrong with being disappointed or angry about that. It starts to be a problem when Jane and John Q. Boinger are surprised by it.
Suggested alternative: if a woman candidate had not been Hillary Clinton, we probably would not have Trump right now
I can’t help but confuse Third Way politics with “Third Positionism.” Which is worse–much worse.

If you’re talking about the allegations against Biden, I suspect the less he says about that, the better. Anything he says other than “no comment” will just be twisted by Hannity, Limbaugh, and their cronies.
And it’s not like anyone is going to vote for Trump over this so-called assault.
