As Washington allegedly wanted. Can’t find it now, but I have seen some quote that he didn’t want to be called president after he was out of office “because there can only be one president at a time”

When the law is against you, argue the facts.
When the facts are against you, argue the law.
When the law and the facts are against you, ask if the witnesses are OK, they seem a little tired, did they really see what they think they saw? What do you mean; there’s nothing wrong with the lights.
