Personally, I’m fond of “reactionary” because it emphasized that they have neither new ideas and are not interested in applying reason to problems. They simply react to their perceived slights.

Yeah, radical reactionaries is a better term. Because they sure as hell do not endorse slow changes to society, they want revolutionary change.
Fascists is a accurate description as well.
