Houses passes bill to federally decriminalize marijuana

Let’s see how many sign on when (if ever) it has a chance to pass the Senate. I’ve seen Dem support for popular causes just evaporate once they’re in danger of actually passing it (classic example: Nancy Pelosi supporting single payer)

Hopefully this bill doesn’t go up in smoke…

can prevent needless incarceration.

You are forgetting about the Prison Industrial Complex in this country, as well as the Private Prison owners; if cannabis is decriminalized, then they will just pass other laws [or crack down on existing laws] in order to fulfill their contracts to keep those prisons full & the coffers of the prison owners happy.

Here’s How They Voted
The bill is H.R. 3617, btw…
As might be expected, the vote was pretty much along party lines.
Pappas [NH], Cuellar [TX] were the outliers on the D side, while Gaetz [FL], Mast [FL], McClintock [CA] voted for the bill on the R side.

i think you mean cocaine fueled lemon party’s

“to clear the 60-vote threshold for passage in the Senate[…]”

Remember kids, the Constitution says that when Republicans hold the Senate, the threshold is 51 votes, but when Dems do, it’s 60.

There is no way Republicans are going to support anything that helps greasers, jazzbos and hippie-freaks. This bill will not pass.

Based and drug-pilled.
