Mine’s from a hand-painted (on flour-sack canvas, probably) movie poster for a horror movie shown in Ghana by entrepreneurs who went from town to town with a video player and a generator. I walked into an exhibition of them at a community college in Massachusetts and took pictures of them all. There’s a Chuck Norris movie in there, too. The artists were local—I mean, Ghanan, not from the village they were headed for. They’d take the posters down and put them up in the next place and move on.

I saw the Arise movie tonight, and it’s quite good. Better than the previous Arise bits, and IMO about as good as the earlier series. It was a digital copy from Japan, and I definitely intend to watch it again soon.

Very much tempted to go to the local showing tonight (11/11), if my kid wants to go.

Apparently I haven’t been keeping up. Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie (which is apparently a continuation of ARISE) was released October 28th, so I’ll have to go looking for that too.
