How this fine gentleman convinced me to donate $300 to Elizabeth Warren

Medicare for all ≠ socialized (nationalized) health care. The former is government as single payer of health care universal coverage, while the latter is government runs hospitals, employs and sets the wages of MDs, nurses, and other health providers, owns the pharmaceutical production process, etc. Imagine replacing the word “parks” with “hospitals” in the phrase “US parks” and you begin to get a glimmer of the idea.

I find it incredible that any Trump supporter, when confronted with any sort of political talk, can do anything but hang their head in silent, unbearable shame. Any (former) Trump supporter who isn’t filled with constant shame and self loathing for that support has failed a pretty basic litmus test for sanity and decency, frankly. A test result which indicates they shouldn’t be engaged with on any level.

Cory, I didn’t know we were allowed to donate money to candidates?

Oooh, looks like green card holders can donate!

I have been donating to Warren regularly. For the people who are on “we can’t elect a socialist” autopilot, they are either intellectually dishonest and lost or hopefully they can be convinced by her story: grew up non-wealthy in OK, military family, former Republican who had the clarity of mind and moral sense to shift her position, fights for working people, etc. I also think she would destroy Trump in a debate without resorting to the condescension that turned so many off from Clinton.

What an idiot, to get that wound up about someone having a different opinion on politics to him. And if he gets that enraged by seeing someone support a democratic candidate for president, then California is not going to be a pleasant place for him to live over the next year.

PS- Nice xeriscaping on that front garden. much more interesting than a sterile lawn.

look I support Warren too but doesn’t he have much right as you putting a sign on your property as him making a guesture at you from a public sidewalk?

if you were walking by on a public sidewalk and saw someone puttign a sign out on their lawn that said “trump did nothing wrong” wouldn’t you have the urge/right to say something? I would and I’d like that right.

I never understood signs anyway, do they change votes? really? is it just an overwelming urge that has to be expressed to the world? kinda like that crazy dude having an overwhelming urge?

Given his expressed political alignment, I doubt he’d have much use for a black flag.

Yup, in the US it either means “OK” or “white power”, and who would signal OK while screaming obscenities?

Burbank was an honest-to-god sundown town. Not terribly surprising people like this would still live there.

Did you perhaps miss the part where he screamed obscenities and threats? I assume you must have because no one would believe they could fool people into thinking that’s in any way equivalent to putting a sign on one’s private property.

I like the signs: Warren, Bernie, Hate has no home here… and of course the little free library.

Here is hoping this is the end of it. So sorry that happened, hopefully your daughter didn’t have to endure that full on ‘white power’ freak out.

That shouldn’t be funny, but it was and I very audibly laughed. And I am not far, time-wise, from prune-ass-edness.

I’m pretty sure that putting political signs on one’s own lawn falls directly under the category of ‘free speech’; whereas spewing angry threats and profanity does NOT.

With his face covered up, he actually seemed pretty happy, with his festive orange shirt and his pose that looks like he’s mid-skip. At first I was expecting to read about him just being a really passionate Warren supporter.

Or his actual appearance, for that matter.

Last time I checked it isn’t Democrats responsibility to primary Trump…

My favorite is the cheery ‘Come back with a warrant!’

I don’t suppose there’s any use in pointing out that I have no trouble imaging all sorts of people being similarly outraged by a Trump sign?

so you’re saying it’s a myth that any Bernie Bros voted for Trump in the last general election

All kidding aside… you may want to exercise caution when opening your door to trick or treaters; the MAGAmoron may wish to repeat his performance (and more) at your door while in costume.
