That’s weird. I have very little fruitcake experience, but I thought brandy was the point?
Growing up, I never understood all the jokes about fruitcake, because my grandpa made the most wonderful version I’ve ever tasted. Takes a lot of months of soaking in brandy, that’s for sure! Although he probably used something else, because brandy would have been too expensive for him.
