How to remove a common Amazon-bought car boot

I think there is plenty for beginners to have fun with in lock sports. What is so stunning in LPL’s videos is how he just breezes by the extra security measures, like security pins that are specially shaped to jam when picked :open_mouth:

I’ve seen wheel boots used to secure trailers and campers from being stolen.

I wonder if that ever backfires because it makes the protected vehicle or trailer look like it should be towed, getting it actually towed even though it wasn’t in violation?

It seems like a shoddy piece of workmanship, I think he should have tried to remove it with a tire iron. If the only thing holding it in place is a screw I think it would break.

Yeah, and he doesn’t even try to guide the viewer through the process either: just have the tool, use the tool.

This video is downright useless for someone who might actually find themselves booted.

Maybe he describes the tool in a different video?

That said, I’m not sure I could buy that tool without a locksmith license around here. I live in one of those states where the mere possession of lockpicks is a crime unless you have a special license.
