You win the Internet today
I was directly inspired by your neologism, so let’s call it a tie.
I’m sure. There’s no way people can outrun production capacity of TP, wipes, sanitizers etc. People will soon be staring at heaps of TP rolls and realizing they have enough for months or years.
Yes absolutely, that’s the problem right now. Retailers don’t want to commit to hiring / contracting more because it’s obvious that demand is going to crash for TP and so on within a week and they will hardly be able to sell it.
As for this stupid couple, they risk lifetime bans from Amazon and also Costco and so on. This couple needs Amazon and Costco a lot more than Amazon and Costco need them. And with all the data these retailers have, they can and do throw lifetime bans at people and there’s no way to evade it.
NICE!
If this guy was a legit business he could at least donate that shit to people who actually need it and write it off as a loss. But this is probably not an actual business that pays taxes and all that.
Bananas freeze really well! My local grocery stores are completely out of meat. Not frozen meat products, just packaged but not frozen meat. I asked a worker at Aldi and she said yep, no more meat until the next re-stocking time. And I’m just wondering, are people buying new freezers for them, too? Because otherwise what the hell do you do with all that fresh meat? You can’t even resell them, they go bad pretty fast.
(Also, some asshole seems to have bought all the sugar-free dark chocolate in the one store that carries it on a decent price. They left all the other type, except the dark chocolate, the one type that I can eat. Gah.)
Around here, I saw a number of people with a few roasts in their cart. You could throw them in a cooler with a little ice and keep it in the garage. Best thing would be to cook them all and then freeze them.
Scum…
I hope they both contract the virus.
It’s illegal in many places in the US as well, it varies state by state though.
Thing is, though, we don’t have a supply crunch right now. For now everyone is still making more, so really most of us should be able to buy more in a couple of weeks at most once stores restock. It isn’t like the panic hoarders are going to keep upping their stockpiles infinitely.
In the past couple of days I went to Costco and three supermarkets *which is normal for me, I like different things from different places), I saw the same RE: poultry. Only fresh though, plenty of frozen poultry. My guess is 1) lots of people who don’t normally cook realize they’ll have to, and are less intimidated by poultry than other meats, and 2) when stockpiling, chicken is usually cheaper than other meats.
And guess which bit of Twitter did it…
Just goes to show that hand sanitizer = terrorism /S
Good journalism makes me want to fight harder.
Goddamn that was refreshing.
It is a little disturbing, mildly scary…
