Carbon fiber is no more “organic” than coal, pencil lead, or diamond. :slight_smile: Carbon is remarkably versatile, isn’t it?

I was surprised that carbon fiber on metal goes “clink,” like metal or hard wood. I was expecting more of a plasticky sound. I need to actually handle some of the stuff.

I gather the problem is that carbon in that form is inert. Carbon splinters or carbon dust can’t be shifted by the body’s processes.

Can you imagine the feelings of the early scientists who proved that diamonds could be burned? Try doing that experiment on your spouse’s engagement ring.
