Baadasssss! is less of a comedy than this seems to be. More of Mario Van Peebles taking a fairly unblinking look at his father within the confines of hagiography. Excellent film.

I’ve tried to watch Dolemite three times now, and I just can’t make it through to the end. I’m watching it sober, though.
