I liked it then... but now not so much

ya, OJ is great. I’m talking about baked with Spam 0_o

err yeah one of those more coffee mornings for me it is.

and SPAM if fried/cooked/etc is not all that bad… just fresh out of the can still with the gloopy gelatin around it not so much.

Depends on how often you ate it …

Yeah, those guys were “pretty good” for Saturday morning kids’ TV! There was also Dorothy Fontana, Walter Koenig, and Theodore Freakin’ Sturgeon! How many Hugos and Nebulas between them all?

I’m not saying Land of the Lost was anywhere close to their best work, but there were some pretty nifty pocket universe stories buried beneath the over-the-top soap opera acting and flimsy plywood-and-foam-rubber sets.

Here in Canada we were often served Klik…

AKA “The poor man’s SPAM.”

That sounds like the opposite of Space:1999. The science fiction show with the best ships, best models, best music, best actors and actresses… And the worst writing.

If you had any more tawdry quirks you could open up a tawdry quirk shop. The madcap vehicle, the cockamamie hair, the clothes designed by a first-year fashion student… I’m surprised you haven’t got a little purple space dog, just to ram home what an intergalactic wag you are.

(^^aka “shit on a shingle”)

Dang, I used to eat some horrifying garbage.

I still like ramen… though I do get a bit better stuff than that most of the time now and do things like add veggies and leftover chicken to it. The last time I was down to well under 200lbs I was having instant lunch (the fancier ramen in a styrofoam cup) and an apple or banana for lunch most days. I hate to think what my sodium levels were like.

Frozen dinners and banquet in particular… yeah no.

And SOS if made properly is just basically a beef version of biscuits and gravy.

I received this album and a Chewbacca action figure from my much older brother for Christmas 1978.

After I opened the blister pack, he tied the bowcaster to Chewies’ hand so the bowcaster (the coolest gun that came with any of the figures at that time) would not be lost to the shag carpet only to be found by the vacuum.

For that reason alone, Sesame Street Fever will never be a bad album.

But even if not for Chewie…

C is for cookie, that’s good enough for me.

As a kid, I loved Tang. And this is the time of year we had spiced tea (tea and Tang with sugar, honey, and cinnamon). That was the best cold medicine. And it was strange and exotic because it was tea, but you drank it warm/hot instead of iced.

Took me a moment. Did you know that all over the world, most people think of tea as a hot drink, not iced?

Of course I do now, but I didn’t back then as a kid growing up in the land of iced sweet tea, (which was so common it would have been reasonable to install another faucet and set of pipes running alongside the water lines).
