Many years ago I got hold of a large carton with maybe a dozen really kitschy Gartenzwerge when I helped some friends to clear out a house they moved into.
I placed them, one at a time, in the stylish (but soulless) front garden of a neighbour I wasn’t very fond of. Each of the gnomes was gone within 48 hours, tops, but it was fun for a couple of weeks.
