Under pressure, Ethos has promised to keep fee increases to 10% per year β€œon average.”

Why would it feel justified raising prices at all for delivering the same service year-in, year-out?

Well, because as costs go up, prices generally will go up, too.

The only question is if the costs are going up 10% per year β€œon average”, because if not this is the expected price gouging that occurs when a private equity company takes over a longstanding product that a large part of the public has come to rely on (see also: insulin, epipens).

ICANN finally reveals who’s behind purchase of .org: It’s β–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆ and β–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆ – you don’t need to know any more
