sitting in my basement listening to jeff beck albums when i was a kid is a very happy memory. sad news.
His playing was always tasteful, even when it was flashy. Which is to say he could impress you but it wasn’t just technique, it was always melodic and interesting, soulful even.

At my youth club, back in the late 70’s/early 80’s, we’d always finish at 7 O’Clock on a Sunday night with ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’ - 20 or 30 kids in a circle with their arms round each other dancing to this tune. Good memories.
Seeing it written down now, it sounds weirdly cultish.
Don’t worry - it wasn’t.
This LP is one I am always tempted to get rid of when the collection gets too big, but it has this one song I love, and I play it, then end up keeping it.
Anyone who has not seen this concert in full needs to do so.
