Lorain, Ohio. About 20 miles west of Cleveland.
It still is strange as hell to me that there are drive through liquor stores in some states.
That’d be like drive thru pot stores here in WA. Seems like it’d encourage drinking while driving.
I guess you haven’t experienced drive through daiquiris? Yeah that’s a real thing
That sounds dangerous.
Apparently they’re hiring nau.
A pandemic godsend, frankly.
And hurricanes. The piece of tape over the straw-hole makes it legal!
In grand game of musical chairs that was “What books did you have out from the library when the lockdown hit” I ended up with this book:
I’ve been reading it little by little as a bathroom book, and it’s really great. It strikes a perfect balance between serious academic writing and “Gee-Wiz!” engagement. My favorite section so far was about eggs, with a special shout out to the moths who take hairs off their abdomens and line their eggs with a furry coat in harsh environments.
That’s the gothiest thing I’ve seen in a while… Goths love tacos.
Freshwater jellyfish? Yes, they exist.
Our neighborhood lake isn’t connected to any other body of water. I wonder how they get in here
They reproduce with spores, don’t they?
We used to look for hydra when I was young. Not a lot of persistent water in this State, though.
Not a name I associate with beauty products:
The tints are totally named something like Azathoth, Concealer of Cosmic Horror, or Batrachian Blue, Colour of the Coveted Innsmouth Look, right?
Colour Out of Space…
Absolutely! It even works with their mullet-headed theme.
Needs a banana for scale/perspective. This tenacious Cedar tree is on a cliff ledge of lake St. Nora in Ontario, looking mostly dead but still able to produce some foliage to survive. The root on the right side in the rocks is about 5inches thick while the main trunk is about 7-8 inches.

Same photo taken today:
I hate this goddamn smoke so much. And I’m not even at risk from the fires. My throat hurts, I’m constantly sneezing, my contacts don’t want to stay in, or else are gumming up.
Last week I brought my wife a take-out margarita (from No. VA). Until Covid, I’d thought that was only allowed in New Orleans.
I am wondering how long this cone's been around. The phone company here hasn't been "Bell" for just over 20 years:
If it’s like many other places, the state or your local government changed the rules to help out restaurants that do a lot of business selling alcohol.
That’s what I’d figured, and I’d heard of that happening – just that at the time I bought it, it seemed to good to be true
